Securities Commission inquiry into circumstances of trading in Air New Zealand

The Securities Commission today announced an enquiry under Section 10 of the Securities Act into the circumstances surrounding the trading, suspension of trading and reinstatement of trading in Air New Zealand shares over the past two days (25-26 September 2001).

This enquiry will cover the effects on the market of various announcements and disclosures concerning Air New Zealand and the role of market participants and others in the period leading up to the resumption of trading on Wednesday 26th September.
