How to contact the Commission

If you wish to draw a matter to the Commission's attention please follow these steps.

  1. Establish that it is the Securities Commission that your complaint or question should be sent to. Check: What we don't do and Who else may be able to help you.

  2. Set our your complaint or question in writing giving as much relevant detail as possible.

  3. Include the names and addresses of companies or individuals you are complaining about.

  4. Include copies of all documents relevant to the complaint e.g. offer documents, letters, share certificates etc. Copies of documents are best, but if you send originals we will copy them and return the originals to you.

  5. Include your name and address. We will keep this confidential if you ask us to do so.

  6. Complaints may be anonymous but if you want us to reply to you or return your documents we need your name and address.

  7. Send your complaint or question to the Director of Enforcement, Securities Commission, PO Box 1179, Wellington 6011 or fax it to 04 472 8076.

  8. Complaints may be emailed to us at seccom@seccom.govt.nz, but remember to fax or post supporting documents and let us know in the email that you are sending them.
